We recently hiked the 3 mile trail to Stoddard Peak (6 miles round trip) near Mount Baldy, and it was well worth the effort. Starting on Barrett Stoddard Truck Trail, we hiked 2.5 miles up before turning onto a rocky, overgrown side path toward the peak. The climb included two false summits, and the final stretch was steep but rewarding. The views were stunning and the boys were able to recharge with a their packed lunches.

Oh, and their was some education involved! The boys learned a little about the geological significance of the area (thanks Mr. French) as well as learning different methods for purifying water.
