Troop 218 was very happy to help our good friends, TreePeople, with a very important reforestation initiative.
A beetle that was introduced into Southern California's eco system is systemically infecting and killing our precious oak trees. These oak trees play a very important role in our local ecosystem. In an effort to slowly reverse this pact, Troop 218 scouts helped TreePeople plant almost 50 new oak tree seedlings, of a few different variety.
Thank you TreePeople for all the great work you do and for allowing us to have a small part in your reforestation efforts.

This was really a great time. The Scouts were able to plant 48 oak tree saplings before noon. They had fun, did a good turn and helped make a difference. TreePeople is a great organization to work with!
